Your gift to support fearless investigative journalism in Wisconsin will be doubled, or tripled, with the launch of NewsMatch 2018

By Emily Neinfeldt (Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism) | November 1, 2018

We’re excited to announce that gifts to the Wisconsin Center for Investigative Journalism are being doubled, up to $1,000 per donor, from now through Dec. 31! A way to boost the impact of your generosity even more: If you set up recurring donations, they will be matched at a full-year value to encourage sustaining support of the Center. For example, a new $20-a-month donation now is eligible for an immediate $240 match.

By Jonathan Anderson and David Pritchard | May 4, 2018

When the University of Wisconsin-Madison and UW-Milwaukee released records about sexual misconduct complaints to news organizations last month, they heavily redacted the documents and refused to identify numerous employees who were found to have committed wrongdoing.

Your Right to Know: Citizens have a right to electronic records

By John Foust | February 1, 2018

Computers have made examining government records easier than ever. The smallest townships across Wisconsin post the meeting agendas and minutes online. And websites for government agencies at all levels contain an enormous amount of other information. Electronic records are also available on request. Say you want to see a skate-park-feasibility study you’ve heard about.
