  1. Thank you for covering this important topic. Can anyone tell me if dispersants are allowed in the Great Lakes in the case of an oil spill? These are a known bio-hazard in their own right, and yet they were used widely in the BP spill and are connected to cases of flesh-eating disease and marine food-chain destruction in the region. The dispersant company Corexit is based in Illinois. If there is not already a ban on the use of dispersants in the Great Lakes, we need to fight for one!
